On Wednesday October 18th a section of Woodward Avenue in Pontiac Michigan was shut down to allow TV and film stars Jay Leno and Tim Allen to cruise a section of America’s oldest concrete-paved road, ending in front of the M1 Concourse. Both were in town filming for an episode of Jay Leno’s Garage Show. It was a big hush hush around town but we got tipped off and happened to be nearby in traffic during the time and caught some long-distance, shaky video but proof that Jay and Tim were here! Also spotted was Tim Kuniskis (CEO of Dodge). Jay was driving his Model T car with Tim Allen as a passenger. When Jay heard that Brad Oleshansky from M1 Concourse closed Woodward during the summer for the Dream Cruise he said “You can do that?” and arrangements were made to shut the road down for a couple of hours to film Jay Leno’s Garage Show. Here are the official closure emails from Oakland County: ATTENTION:
Northbound and Southbound WOODWARD AVE between South Boulevard and Rapid Street, in the City of Pontiac will be temporarily closed.
Alternate routes are as followed:
Northbound Woodward will be detoured to South Boulevard to North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to West Auburn Road to Northbound Woodward Avenue.
Southbound Woodward will be detoured to West Rapid to South Franklin to East South Boulevard back to Southbound Woodward.
It is awesome that Pontiac and the M1 Concourse are getting this sort of attention. Keep up the good work Pontiac! There is a brief video below showing Jay Leno in his automobile, we zoomed this and freeze-framed it so you could see him but, clearly, we didn’t have a very good position to film him.
