Fillmore 13 Brewery, Downtown Pontiac Michigan

Pontiac is making a comeback! Don’t believe me? Check the block just north of Pike Street on Saginaw, in downtown Pontiac. In addition to several already successful businesses, this area is now home to Exferimentation Brewery, the refurbished Strand Theater, the upcoming Slows BarBQ, and the topic of this article, the Fillmore 13 Brewery.
The Fillmore is located at 7 North Saginaw Street, Pontiac, Michigan, directly across the street from The Strand. The space has been remodeled and converted into a brewery and restaurant and has two large rooms to accommodate a lot of people. Unlike many new breweries that have only a few selections of beer and ale when starting out, the Fillmore 13 has 17 very different varieties (see the menu scans). We’ve tried many of them and have been utterly pleased with every choice. If you find one you really like you can take home a growler, a howler, or a prowler of your favorite! An added bonus is that for only $50 per year you can join their “Mug Club.” This gets you a buck off every beer pour and it’s served in a mug (which holds a bit more than the glass). You also get $5 off a growler on T or Th, $10 off your birthday dinner, 10% off all Fillmore merchandise, 10% off your party of five or more, and to attend an End of the Year Member’s Only Party. I love it and joined immediately.
In addition to the beer, the menu is also comparable to the best breweries where we’ve eaten (see the menu scans). So far we’ve tried two pizzas, the Pub Burger, the Grilled 4 Cheese, the BBQ Sidewinder Nachos, and the Irish Burger (St. Patrick’s menu). It was all really good, exceeding our expectations in every case.
