Detroit Metro Mashup has attended the NAIAS for years and it just keeps getting better and better. As you've probably heard on the news, this year is distinguished by a real emphasis on automation, self driving cars, sensor technology, and machine learning. Much of this tech is shown off downstairs at COBO Hall, in addition to the usual displays of artistic design and the current production and prototype cars and trucks upstairs. The electric and hybrid vehicles are a much larger percentage of the main-level floor space than in recent years, keeping with the high tech push that is beginning to dominate the industry. Everything from super-high performance Challengers to electric pods and scooters for running around town made a splash this year.
The show is open to the public as of today (1/14/16) and runs through next Sunday (1/22/16). We at detroitmm.com strongly encourage you to go to the show if you are interested in cars, technology, transportation in general, or just having an enjoyable day while getting some walking exercise. You won't be disappointed.
